That's because we buy from and work directly with the same small local and organic farmsfrom your community. Buying a FarmBox, instead of the farmer's market, you are giving the farmer even more support and stability allowing them to plan ahead and work with the land to produce the best possible crop, instead of trying to fulfil anticipated demand. Not only do you support local farmers, but you also help the planet! Our delivery services remove thousands of cars from the road by delivering to you and your neighbors in a sustainable way. We also have reusable "eco-baskets" that you recycle each week. FarmBox is also a NO FOOD WASTE company! Our farmers only harvest after orders are in so nothing is ever wasted. And if for some reason their is a surplus... we donate every thing to charity and local food banks. But perhaps the most important reason to join FarmBox is... its easy! We have everything from your local natural grocer and farmers market combined. All you have to do is set up your order and forget it.... we'll take care of the rest.

The majority of our fruits and vegetables are certified organic. However, FarmBox is a proud believer in the slow food movement we prioritze local. We support many small farmers who are in the process of getting certification. We call these farmers "local and sustainable" and you'll see these words in our item descriptions on our website. *Part of the beauty of FarmBox is that we hand pick all of the local farmers we want to work with and have personal relationships with them! We know what goes into our food here. Also, by supporting FarmBox, you are supporting these local farmers to have financial independence and grow their businesses! As they grow they have the opportunity to apply for certification! The more small farmers we support with our money... the more we encourage the change to a sustainable future! It's a great cause to support!

Just remember, our Customer Service team works 9am-5pm and some of our cut-offs are at 10pm. If you email between 5pm and 10pm there is a possibility that item may not be able to be added to your order. But we will always do what we can to help!

How to shop Farmbox

No problem! Just let us know via email or phone, and we will substitute it out and update your profile for you so you never receive it again! Or...you can add it to your dislikes in your online profile. Under Account Information > Modify Personal Information.

Our cut-off for ordering is usually noon the day prior to your delivery. For Sunday deliverys, the cutoff is the Thursday prior at 10pm. From time to time we do offer special artisinal products that take a bit longer to prepare so they will have specific cutoffs. You can check the cutoff time of an order here

Of course! Our FarmBoxes provides a rotating selection of seasonal products catered to your household's size and preferences, including dislikes and allergies. But if you want to have even more control you can swap produce in and out of your box from a set list of produce available. For more info see here [link to info below] You can also add anything from our website to your weekly order. Find out more about a-la-carte You can customize your FarmBox each week based on what is seasonal. Every Wednesday morning the items will be added to your FarmBox from our Farmers. After logging into your account click on the “My Shopping Cart” link, select your order and then “customize bag”. A new window will pop up with all your options, there you can increase or decrease amounts of produce or zero out items you don't like and add more of what you do like. Each box has a number of items allowed. When you're at the full capacity of the box the “substitutions left” indicator on the upper right hand corner will be "0". If it's a positive number that means you can keep adding more! If it's negative that means you added more than the allowance and should eliminate or decrease some items. Absolutely! You can order anything on our store page at anytime, in any quanitity! We have almost every grocery product your local natural food store offers. Fresh baked goods, meats, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, pantry staples, and prepared foods are just a small selection of our a la carte ordering options. Our minimum for delivery is $5, and a delivery charge of $4.95 is waived for all orders over $50. You can also custom create your own recurring order just as you want it. This is for customers who know they want a specific order and want to just set it and forget it. It will automatically recreate your order at the frequency you designate. You can have it recur every week, every two weeks or every month! You can even specify which items you want at different frequencies! Say you want your produce recurring every week, but eggs only twice a month, and that pint of ice cream is a special monthly treat. We can do that too!

Nope! You can set your FarmBox to come every other week, every month, or just order one when you feel like it! You can also just shop a-la-carte on any given week, as needed. No commitments, no frequency requirements, and no limitations. Just fill up your cart whenever you want something, and we'll deliver it!

Ordering

We don't have a "checkout" feature since our customers find it convenient to have the flexibility to change their order as life happens. Instead we have cut-off days. Fill up your order and change it as much as you want throughout the week. Anything left in your order past your cut-off will be charged and delivered. Once logged in, go to my account and click "Upcoming Deliveries" and you'll see the next four weeks of upcoming orders in our system.

Delivery

We are constantly growing and expanding! Please check out our delivery zone map located on our store page. If we aren’t delivering in your area yet and you’d like to be on our waiting list, just fill out the contact us form and let us know the zip code you live in.

We deliver between 7am and 5pm and deliver 5 days a week Sunday-Thursday, depending on your area. Please check "delivery area" for your local availability

We recommend that you be home so you can immediately put the produce away but if you’re not home, we will leave your delivery on your doorstep or other location as per your instructions.

We pick up your eco-basket and/or bag(s) and other reusable items (ice packs, containers, etc.) on your next delivery. Be sure to leave them out the night before as we deliver to some areas early in the morning.

FarmBox delivers to a variety of different residences and offices all over Southern California and we are happy to work with everyone's needs. Please share with us any instructions you feel would be helpful to make a successful delivery (ie: gate code, back entrance, leave with a neighbor, customer has limited mobility and needs help unpacking, etc.) We also have a key program for those who are comfortable giving us a spare key, but this is optional. Billing

We only bill after the cut-off time if you have an order placed for the upcoming delivery day. We never charge before cut-off, while you're on a vacation hold, or if there is no order in your account.

Delivery is free for all orders over $50. A charge of $4.95 is applied to orders under $50, and the minimum order is $5. There a one time fully refundable $50 deposit for the use of FarmBox eco-baskets. There is a $.50 charge for each reusable green bag which is refunded when returned.

Yes, you will be contacted as your delivery driver is on their way to your home or office. We send one text when we are on route from the previous stop (between 5 and 30 minutes away) and in case we miss you, we send another text when we've just delivered to your door. Cancelation

In order to avoid being charged and sent your order, you must delete or clear your order before your cut-off. You can skip your delivery before our cut-off by logging into your account or emailing us at farmboxla@farmbox.com. Canceling after the cut-off is not encouraged.

Please call or email us, and we will replace the item in your next FarmBox. We strive to ensure 100% customer satisfaction regarding our produce and delivery service!

Account information

We of course hope that you never need to cancel FarmBox. Please let us know if you have an issue that we can work on or help you with. But if you're moving out of the area and need to cancel for any reason, please email us at farmboxla@farmboxla.com or call us at 888-888-8590. If you just need to pause your account for a few weeks or a few months, we recommend putting your account on hold so you don't have to re-enter all your info when you come back!

The farmers that we source our produce from all grow natural, pure and sustainable, with out spraying and completey GMO free. Almost all the farmers are certified organic while a few we source from aren't yet certified. The ones that aren't certified organic we call "local and sustainable" because we aren't legally allowed to call them organic. But you can trust that we know their practices and it is all-naturale!

We here at FarmBox try our best to recycle all of our packing materials. We definitely do not want to create extra waste for our planet. Whenever we send out insulated envelopes or green re-usable bags we do have to charge $1.00. However when that item is returned a $1.00 credit is then added back into your account. So at the end of the day it actually evens out. You can see this reflected in your payment history. If this is ever unclear, please give us a call at 888-888-8590 and we'll walk you through it!
